Air Canada launching Sapporo, Japan flights

Aircanada25 Flag carrier Air Canada will launch new flights to Japan’s ski resort gateway of Sapporo.

Air Canada will deploy Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft with Signature Class, Premium Economy and Economy.

“Air Canada’s global network is further strengthened by the addition of Sapporo, a premier winter leisure destination in Japan’s northern Hokkaido prefecture,” said Mark Galardo, EVP & Chief Commercial Officer.

Hokkaido is home to Japan’s top mountain resorts, hot springs and the Sapporo Snow Festival.

The route will operate seasonally through March 2027

Air Canada also flies to Tokyo-Narita and Tokyo-Haneda year-round and to Osaka in the summer.

The new flights will be the first to Sapporo direct from North America.

The route takes off in December 2026 from Vancouver International Airport three times weekly.
