Air India agrees order for 85 Airbus jets

A new order for 85 Airbus planes has been made, according to industry sources.

Airbus confirmed an order for 75 A320-family jets and 10 long-haul A350s had been made by an unnamed airline customer.

Air India may also buy more Boeing jets the sources said.

Neither party has specifically responded to inquiries about the order yet.

The flag carrier currently has hundreds of aircraft on order.
