Alaska Airlines unveils first transatlantic destination

Gray Line Rome Bus Colosseum Italy will be the destination for Alaska Airlines’ first transatlantic foray.

The airline announced nonstop Seattle to Rome flights from May 2026.

It will mark Alaska’s Europe debut.

It is the latest step in its international expansion, having announced flights to Seoul and Tokyo.

“Serving Rome nonstop from Seattle is a dream come true. Rome has been at the top of the list ever since we announced our new global gateway out of Seattle,” Ben Minicucci, CEO of Alaska Airlines.

The airline will fly to Rome’s Fiumicino International Airport enabling easy onward connections to Milan, Venice, Florence, Naples and more.

Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer at Aeroporti di Roma, added, “We are immensely proud that Alaska Airlines has chosen Rome as its first Europe destination. For the first time in history, Italy will be directly connected to Seattle”.

Alaska Airlines operates 104 nonstop US routes from its Seattle-Tacoma Airport hub.
