BA launching Heathrow-Guernsey flights

It is set to launch in April as part of a three-year deal with Guernsey.

It is expected to receive some backing by the island’s Committee for Economic Development and the States Trading Supervisory Board.

“This is fantastic news, exactly the kind of investment in connectivity Guernsey needs right now,” said Alan Sillett from the Guernsey Hospitality Association

The last daily direct service between Guernsey and London Heathrow was subsidised by the States of Guernsey but was halted after the demise of Flybe in 2020.

Guernsey lawmakers had been working to bring a direct London Heathrow link for several months, before the collapse of airline Blue Islands.

Aurigny serves London City Airport and hinted the new BA service may force it to cut back on some flights.
