Kicking off on 2 January, the new EK654/655 roundtrip service increases seat capacity on the route by 30%.
It supports Sri Lanka’s aim to considerably increase tourist arrivals in 2025.
The new flight will operate six times a week until 31 March 2025 on Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft accommodating 360 passengers.
From 1 April, a seventh weekly service will be added.
Emirates now offers four daily flights between Dubai and Colombo, including one via Male.
Sri Lanka Tourism aims to attract three million visitors by 2025, and Emirates is a long-standing partner of Sri Lanka Tourism.
The airline has carried over 12 million passengers to and from Colombo since operations began in 1986.
