JetBlue scraps London Gatwick flights

Gatwick4 JetBlue is making big changes to its route network, with transatlantic flights to London Gatwick getting the chop.

The airline will ditch the route altogether after dropping Gatwick flights to New York JFK and Boston for the winter season.

Earlier this year the airline said it planned to resume these routes for summer.

JetBlue also announced it is scaling back Paris flights by half.

It will continue flying daily to the French capital but won’t bring back a second daily service for the summer.

JetBlue said it will share ‘how we will redeploy this capacity, including into our European network’ in the coming weeks.

“Recently, we made some network adjustments in certain markets, removing some underperforming flying from our schedule, allowing us to redeploy resources toward high-demand markets,” it said.

Domestically, JetBlue is cutting New York JFK flights to Austin, Houston, Miami, and Milwaukee.

The airline will also halt all flights to San Jose, CA and scrap the Westchester to Charleston and Jacksonville to Fort Lauderdale routes.

“As part of our JetForward strategic plan, JetBlue is focused on building a network that best serves our customers and supports our long-term success.”
