The change takes effect from 1 July 2026.
Currently Qantas Gold, Platinum and Qantas Club members on Jetstar international flights get access as well some using complimentary lounge invitations.
From July, complimentary lounge passes can only be transferred to another person on the same flight.
The change has garnered a mixed reaction from customers of both airlines.
“Customers who wish to continue accessing the Qantas lounge when flying with Jetstar can still do so by booking a Qantas codeshare flight operated by Jetstar, a Jetstar domestic flight, or a Jetstar Business Max fare,” Qantas said
The new rule is waived for Platinum One members, who can still access the lounge when booked on Jetstar international flights.
Qantas says it has taken note of customer feedback over peak time overcrowding in lounges.
