Biman Bangladesh Airlines has reopened bookings for its Dhaka–Sylhet–Manchester route, marking the airline’s return to Manchester from July 4, 2026. The carrier will operate the service twice weekly with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. The airline suspended its flights in March 2026 with the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
The flights will depart Dhaka at 10:55, arriving in Sylhet before continuing to Manchester, landing at 19:15 local time. Return services leave Manchester at 21:00 and arrive back in Dhaka the following day.
At the same time, Pakistan International Airlines is expanding its Manchester footprint with additional flights from Islamabad and the return of Lahore services.
From July 3, 2026, PIA will increase Islamabad–Manchester frequencies from three to four weekly flights using Boeing 777-200ER and 777-200LR aircraft.
The airline is also resuming Lahore–Manchester operations with a weekly Boeing 777-200LR service, restoring another direct link between Pakistan and northern England.
The expanded schedules underline growing demand for VFR (visiting friends and relatives) and business travel between the UK, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It also confirms Manchester continuous strengthening its position as a major long-haul gateway outside London. In Financial Year 2025-2026 (April 1,2025 to March 31, 2026), Manchester accommodated 32.3 million passengers, up 3.6% year-on-year.
In another development, Manchester Airport announced to gain for the first time a direct, non-stop flight to Algiers. From June 14, 2026, Air Algérie will operate a twice-weekly service with a Boeing 737.
