Qantas’ 17-hour flight to London from Perth is once again temporarily adding a technical layover in Singapore.
The Aussie flag carrier says the stop is necessary for refueling due to flight path rerouting to avoid closed airspace in the Middle East.
Several countries in the region have still closed or restricted their airspace.
“The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority, and where necessary, we may adjust our flight paths,” Qantas said.
“If your Qantas-operated flight is affected, we will contact you as soon as possible.”
The airline is also offering other options for customers from Australia to Europe via Gulf partner airlines.
There are thousands of UK nationals still in Australia and yet to secure a flight home.
