”At this time, reductions are expected to be temporary for our unionized employees and permanent for management employees,” the airline said in a filing with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
It could impact up to 500 employees including nearly 300 pilots, flight attendants and dispatchers.
Additionally, about 200 staff based in Dayton could also be affected.
The American Airlines service agreement ends April 3, 2025.
Air Wisconsin has been flying a fleet of 60 regional jets for AA under the American Eagle brand since 2023 but will now pivot to a codeshare and interline partnership with American.
It will also focus more on charter and essential air service operations.
“We continually evaluate the regional network and makes strategic decisions that will benefit our airline and customers,” the airline says.
