The Thai Immigration Bureau is waiving overstay fees for visas expiring on or after February 28.

For travellers who are unable to get a confirmed flight booking in the next few days, a 30-day visa extension is available.

Normally, visa overstay penalties are calculated at THB500 per day.

There are currently thousands of travellers in Thailand that are being impacted by disruption across the Middle East.

Immigration officials said these measures will remain valid until the situation normalises in the Middle East.
