US to charter flights for stranded Americans

After advising Americans to leave parts the Middle East region following the attack on Iran last week, it advises all to ‘exercise increased caution.’

This week the State Department urged Americans to leave more than a dozen countries in the Middle East.

It gave advice to ‘depart now’ although at the time stated it wasn’t in any position to help citizens evacuate.

It cited a ‘serious safety risk’ in countries such as Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

It expanded the advisory to ‘worldwide and especially in the Middle East’ and to follow localized advisories issued by the respective embassies or consulates.

There are still hundreds of thousands of travelers stranded across the region due to multiple countries closing airspace.

However, the State Department has now said it is currently planning to charter flights and use military aircraft to repatriate stranded Americans
