Emirates further enhances flexibility for its tickets

The changes include unlimited free date changes for flights to Dubai, sharply reduced refund fees, one free date change across the airline’s global network and expanded travel insurance.

The measures come as travellers continue to face uncertainty from changing travel plans and disruptions, particularly on international routes.

Unlimited changes to Dubai
Since August 10, 2026, passengers traveling to Dubai can change their travel dates as many times as needed without paying a change fee, regardless of the fare.

The offer applies to Economy Saver through Flex fares, as well as Special, Saver and Flex fares in Business Class.

Economy Flex Plus, Premium Economy, Business Flex Plus and First Class fares already offer full flexibility.

Emirates is also cutting refund fees for flights to Dubai. Economy Saver refunds will cost $50, while Flex fares will carry a $25 fee. In Business Class, refund fees will be $50 for Special and Saver fares and $25 for Flex fares.

The combination of unlimited date changes and lower refund fees gives passengers more options if their plans change.

One free change across the network
This flexibility extends beyond Dubai. Passengers traveling anywhere on the Emirates network can make one free date change on tickets booked from April 2, 2026, including itineraries connecting through Dubai.

Customers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no cost while they finalize their travel plans.

Expanded travel insurance
Emirates has also introduced its Comprehensive Travel Cover, which it describes as an industry-first insurance product.

The policy covers a broad range of travel risks, including trip cancellation, baggage delays and loss, emergency evacuation and unlimited worldwide medical expenses.

It also includes additional conflict-related protection, with reimbursement of medical expenses of up to $25,000 and a free trip extension of up to 30 days.

The coverage is not restricted by government travel advisories. The policy is available across 27 countries and can be purchased when booking through Emirates or added later through the airline’s Manage Booking function.

When Emirates flights are disrupted, the airline says it will arrange accommodation directly for affected passengers.

If onward connections on other airlines are disrupted, or Emirates services are unavailable, customers can be rebooked to their destination at no additional cost, including when cancellations result from airspace disruptions.

Extra benefits for Skywards members
Emirates is also increasing incentives for members of its Skywards loyalty program.

Until August 31, members can benefit from a 20% reduction in the Tier Miles required to reach Silver, Gold and Platinum status, plus a 20% bonus on Tier Miles earned on Emirates and flydubai flights.

Members can also get greater value from Cash+Miles.

The special rate is 2,000 Miles for $30, compared with the usual $15, when Miles are used toward Emirates or flydubai flights, excess baggage, lounge access or seat selection.

Taken together, these measures represent a significant shift toward greater booking flexibility, giving passengers more ways to adjust their plans without facing the high change and cancellation costs traditionally associated with airline tickets.
