Radisson Blu with a 401-room hotel at Manchester City stadium

The Radisson Blu Medlock Hotel, Manchester was launched on September 7. It represents the first development delivered through the hotel group’s partnership with Manchester City Football Club.

It forms part of the Medlock Square development at the Etihad Campus, directly alongside both the stadium and Co-op Live arena.

The property is designed to capture demand from football supporters, concertgoers, corporate travellers and event groups, with access to more than 30 meeting and event spaces across the wider Etihad Campus.

That includes Medlock Square’s outdoor activation space, which can accommodate up to 3,000 people, as well as hospitality and meeting facilities inside the Etihad Stadium.

The hotel’s accommodation includes Standard, Premium and Deluxe rooms, Pitch View rooms, One-Bedroom Suites and a two-story, two-bedroom Penthouse. The 153-square-meter Penthouse has a 25-square-meter private terrace and can host private events for up to 50 people.

Pitch View rooms are designed to provide direct views into the stadium and can also be converted into hospitality suites on matchdays and major event nights. The hotel has 42 suites in total.

Food and beverage is another major part of the development. Three Rivers Brasserie & Bar and Blend Café Bar are operating alongside Little Beast Restaurant, while Brickworks Market Hall and Zadie’s Sky Bar are scheduled to open later this year.

The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness suite with virtual personal training technology.

Radisson said the property is intended to operate as part of a wider entertainment destination rather than simply as a stadium hotel. Medlock Square will add restaurants, bars and cafés, together with a new Manchester City museum experience, stadium roof walk, zip wire and a 3,000-capacity covered events space.

Transport is another selling point. A Metrolink stop next to the hotel provides direct service to central Manchester in about 10 minutes. Manchester Airport is around 20 minutes away by car or approximately 40 minutes by public transport, according to Radisson.

The hotel forms part of Manchester City Football Club’s wider £300 million development at the Etihad Campus.
